This was an undergraduate project in the summer of 2006 to implement a computer vision-driven interactive projector system similar to commercial products from, for example, GestureTek and CatchYoo.

We created a highly-functional prototype based on background subtraction using an IR spotlight and an IR-sensitive camera with a visible light cut filter. Example applications included deflection of streaming particles, ripples in an animated pond including swimming fish, and a tile-sliding game. The projected floor area was about 12' x 8'.
